About
A student's lens on a changing ocean.
My name is Kavya Butani. I am a 15-year-old student from Goa with a growing interest in marine biology, environmental science, ocean conservation, and scientific research.
I started The Ocean Lens because I want to learn more about the marine world, conduct research into the challenges affecting oceans and coastal ecosystems, and help inform people about important environmental issues through accessible, research-based videos and articles.

Why The Ocean Lens?
The ocean supports life across the planet, yet many of the challenges affecting it remain misunderstood or overlooked. The Ocean Lens was created as a space to ask questions, explore scientific evidence, document a learning journey, and make marine science more understandable and engaging.

The journey ahead
The Ocean Lens is only beginning. Over time, this platform will grow through research, scientific reading, educational videos, field exploration, original projects, and evidence-based storytelling. The goal is not only to share information, but also to document the process of learning how marine science is studied and communicated.
